The Alleghany Foundation is proud to sponsor the High School Senior Class Giving Program, empowering seniors at Alleghany High School and the Boys Home to support local nonprofits. Each student receives a survey listing registered organizations participating in Give Local Alleghany Highlands and selects one nonprofit to support. For every vote, The Alleghany Foundation donates $50 to the chosen organization.
For the fifth consecutive year, high school seniors are making an impact through the Senior Class Giving opportunity. This initiative allows students to direct $50 to a nonprofit of their choice at no personal cost. In 2024, graduating seniors from Alleghany High School and the Boys Home collectively raised $5,200 for the Give Local Alleghany Highlands campaign.
Looking ahead to 2025, Senior Class Giving will include a student-led presentation at Alleghany High School, showcasing all participating Give Local Alleghany Highlands nonprofits. Organized by Kristy Humphreys, a government and economics/personal finance teacher, these presentations will contribute to students’ community service projects.
