The Alleghany Foundation proudly sponsors the High School Senior Class Giving Program, empowering graduating seniors at Alleghany High School and the Boys Home to make a meaningful difference in their community. Through this initiative, each senior receives a survey featuring all registered nonprofits participating in Give Local Alleghany Highlands. Students select the organization that resonates most with them, and for every vote cast, The Alleghany Foundation contributes $50 directly to that nonprofit—turning student voices into tangible support for local causes.
For six consecutive years, graduating seniors from Alleghany High School and the Boys Home have demonstrated their commitment to community service through the Senior Class Giving program. In 2025 alone, their participation generated over $5,000 for local nonprofits through the Give Local Alleghany Highlands campaign.
In 2026, the Senior Class voting continues on April 23, 2026. This event begins with student-led presentations at Alleghany High School, where seniors will showcase participating Give Local Alleghany Highlands nonprofits. Organized by Kristy Humphreys, government and economics/personal finance teacher, these presentations will deepen student engagement while fulfilling community service project requirements.
