Grand Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 organizations in each size category (small, medium, large) who raise the most dollars through GiveLocahAH.org.

Qualifying Donations: All donations, including offline donations, made via GiveLocalAH.org between May 6 at 9:00am ET - May 20 at 11:59:59pm ET will count towards the grand prize competition. Only checks that are dated between May 6 and May 20 will count towards the fundraising totals for each organization and a copy of the check must be submitted to the Alleghany Foundation office by 5:00 PM, EST, May 20, 2025.

Power Hours
The Power Hour competition is an hour-long fundraising sprint in which nonprofits aim to raise the most money within that timeframe. Power Hours are categorized into small, medium, and large nonprofits. Winners will be announced at the beginning of the following hour.

Golden Tickets
Thirty Golden Tickets worth $250 each will be randomly drawn twice every hour, beginning at the 7:00 AM hour and continuing until the 9:00 PM hour. Each hour, the GLAH site will randomly select two donations to win $250 for the nonprofit that received the donation. Only online donations made during the chosen hour are eligible for this opportunity, so the more individual donors giving for your organization, the higher your chances of winning a Golden Ticket.

10 Unique Donors Pool
$9,500 total
Help your favorite nonprofit earn additional prize funds! During the campaign, any nonprofit that receives donations from at least 10 unique donors will qualify for a share of a special bonus prize pool. The more nonprofits that reach this goal, the more nonprofits benefit! Prize pool will be equally divided among all qualifying organizations. Unique donors are identified based on their email addresses. Only online donations made via GiveLocalAH.org are eligible for this prize.

Give now and help your favorite nonprofit thrive - one donor at a time! Qualifying nonprofits can win additional prize funds by increasing their unique donor count from Give Local Alleghany Highlands 2024. Prize funds are unlocked by increasing unique donor count in increments of 5. $50 will be unlocked for the first two groups of 5 new donors (i.e. 5 new donors, 10 new donors). After that, each group of 5 new donors unlocks $25 to the total prize received. See table below for visual example.

Senior Class Giving
The Alleghany Foundation is proud to sponsor the High School Senior Class Giving Program, empowering seniors at Alleghany High School and the Boys Home to support local nonprofits. Each student receives a survey listing registered organizations participating in Give Local Alleghany Highlands and selects one nonprofit to support. For every vote, The Alleghany Foundation donates $50 to the chosen organization.
For the fifth consecutive year, high school seniors are making an impact through the Senior Class Giving opportunity. In 2024, graduating seniors from Alleghany High School and the Boys Home collectively raised $5,200 for the Give Local Alleghany Highlands campaign.
Looking ahead to 2025, Senior Class Giving will include a student-led presentation at Alleghany High School, showcasing all participating Give Local Alleghany Highlands nonprofits. Organized by Kristy Humphreys, a government and economics/personal finance teacher, these presentations will contribute to students’ community service projects.

Prize Rules
- Please see specific prize details for information about prize time frame, prize amount, win limits, and qualifying donations.
- Any individual may donate. The minimum donation is $5. Donations made through GiveLocalAH.org to nonprofit organizations are 100% tax deductible and irrevocable. Donations will not be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit card, debit card, or PayPal. Cash and check gifts are accepted and can be made directly to your preferred participating nonprofit organization. Only checks that are dated between May 6th and May 20th will count towards the fundraising totals for each organization and a copy of the check must be submitted to the Alleghany Foundation office by May 20, 2025, 5:00 PM, EST. The Alleghany Foundation reserves the right to request a copy of checks or cash donation receipts for validation purposes.
- Awarded prizes are subject to audit and will be finalized up to seven business days following the close of Give Local Alleghany Highlands.
- Prizes may be revoked or withheld if donations or matches can't be validated, including falsifying donor email addresses or matches.
- The Give Local Alleghany Highlands Prize Pool is sponsored by the Alleghany Foundation and the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism as a means to incentivize and reward organization participation in the fundraising challenge. In an effort to provide an equitable Prize Pool, participating organizations are limited to winning one Golden Ticket and one Power Hour during Give Local Alleghany Highlands.
- For the purposes of the Give Local Alleghany Highlands 2025 prize pool, participating nonprofits will be broken down into the following size categories for applicable prizes.
