Who we are & what we do

"Promoting visual arts through education, exhibitions, and marketing! " 

The main ways we get support are through memberships, donations, grants, and fundraising campaigns like GiveLocalah. We have some incredible donors who've been supporting us for years and we heavily rely on the support of the Alleghany County community. We cannot do what we do without the support of the community.
 We enjoy over 10,000 visitors annually of all ages, some come to participate in a wide variety of media workshops taught by professional artists year round. Visit a snippet of Kids Summer Art Camp and a Paper making workshop below:

Many come to view ever-changing (4-6 weeks) high-quality exhibits in the Gallery.  These FREE exhibitions are made possible through the support of  contributions from people like you!  The 2023 Student Art Show is in the Gallery now.  To visit last years show, click here:

Others visit the Shop for the presentation and sale of excellent handmade and juried artwork from over 260 artists. This helps to support regional artists in their artistic endeavors.  Please enjoy videos below of artists talking about their work:
